Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday July 27 at 8:30 a.m.
The 20th Annual Wahine Classic takes place this weekend at The Washout. Come support these ladies as compete and shred it up. We’ll see you there.
Waves at The Washout are thigh-to-waist high coming off the high tide Cleaning up a little with a side/offshore breeze.
Winds are west at 6-8 knots, and surf zone is semi-clean this morning.
Look for southwest winds this afternoon increasing at 10-15 knots, and surf zone becomes choppy today.
We are coming off an early high tide at 7:40 a.m. and low tide will be at 1:31 p.m. We have another high tide at 8:03 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.3 feet at 8 seconds in a combination medium period south-east swell and a short-period south-east wind swell.
Waves are a little clean this morning running in the waist high range. Early mornings are your best bet this week with the morning high tides and lighter winds. South-west wind swell will continue on-and-off through late week. Likely rideable, but not much to look forward to. South-west wind swell looks to continue for the Wahine Classic this weekend.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail through late week. A weak front could stall near the area over the weekend.”
It’s 83* with bright sun this morning. We’ll have a high of 87* today and sunny to partly cloudy for the afternoon.
Water Temperature is around 84*.
Sunrise is at 6:29 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:21 p.m.
