Good morning this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, October 27 at 8:00 a.m.
Lots of new flannels and fleece at the shop for your fall wardrobe. Come check us out when you get to the beach.
Waves at The Pier this morning are running knee-thigh high, maybe a waist high wave every now and again on the sets. It’s pretty clean with the north wind. Looks like some current running south. Tide is pretty high with just under two hours before high tide. You can see some lines on the outside, just not breaking with all the water. The wind is chilly so bring the neoprene with you.
Winds are north at 11 knots with gust to 14 knots and surf zone is clean with a slight southerly drift.
Look for northeast winds today at 10-15 knots with gusts up to 20 knots.
High tide is at 9:45 a.m., and low tide will be at 4:05 p.m. The high tide is at 9:54 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.0 feet at 10 seconds in an east/north-east swell.
We see small north-east wind swell in the water today, with north-east winds making for choppy conditions this afternoon. Look for a more significant north-east wind swell tomorrow and into the weekend as low pressure affects our marine area and we see significant north-east winds.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will build across the region today and persist into late week. Low pressure should arrive and produce a period of cooler, unsettled weather during the weekend. High pressure will then return next week.”
Water temperature is running around 69*, dude!
It’s a warm 62* and windy. Look for a high of 71* and partly cloudy skies today with windy conditions.
Sunrise is at 7:33 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:33 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
