Semi-glassy

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Stomach high
Traffic: None
Parking: Filling up some
Dangers: None

Good morning this is Brad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, November 12 at 8:30 a.m.

Waves at The Washout this morning are stomach high with bigger sets, with a little texture and chop out in the lineup. Waves are consistently popping up, ranging from peaky short rides to decent lines if you can find them.

Winds are south-west at 10-12 knots and should maintain this speed and direction throughout the day. We see semi-choppy surf this afternoon. It’s likely the mid-morning high will compromise wave form, so I’d recommend hitting it early or on the outgoing after 10 this morning.

High tide will be at 10:06 a.m., and low tide will be at 4:19 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.6 feet at 9.1 seconds in an east/south-east swell, with a south-south-west wind-swell 3 feet at 6 seconds.

Plenty of swell at the buoy means some decent waves for Folly Today. Tropical Depression Nicole pulled north of the area as expected leaving behind some leftovers. Finger crossed for a quick clean up Sunday morning as winds come north-west after a cold front passage this morning. Keep an eye on Sunday morning to see when we get a quick clean up with the wind change. Waves look flat to start the work week. There’s potential for a little bump on Tuesday, but we will keep you updated as that forecast develops.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A strong cold front will sweep across the region tonight, with high pressure building in its wake through the weekend. A coastal trough could impact the region Tuesday, followed by a series of low pressure systems mid week and late week.”

It’s 69* and cloudy this morning. We see moderate clouds move in this afternoon and a high of 77.

Water temperature is running around 69*

Sunrise is at 6:47 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:20 p.m.
