Good morning this is Brad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, November 15 at 8:30 a.m.

Waves at The Washout this morning are thigh-to-waist high in a fresh, rainy north wind swell.

Winds are blowing 10-12 knots and surf looks like it’s maintaining some form. Surf is slightly side-shore, drifty and semi-choppy. Sets are consistently popping up.

We see north winds this morning at 10 knots, switching to 5-10 knots out of the south-south-west this afternoon and evening. Drift is pushing North to South pretty swiftly.

High tide will be at 12.19 p.m., and low tide will be at 6:41 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 6.9 feet at 6.2 seconds in a building, short-period east wind swell, most of which is passing by our beaches.

Winds are forecasted to become south this afternoon, and this might be the best time to catch a fun session with a little bit of size on it and semi-choppy conditions. Drifty, high angled east wind swell should continue Wednesday, before falling off some late week. There’s not much on the horizon, so get out in the rainy surf today if you want to get wet.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will weaken as an area of low pressure passes through the region today. Overnight, a cold front will move offshore followed by high pressure building in from the west. High pressure should then prevail through late week. Another cold front could cross the region during the weekend.”

It’s a chilly 61* overcast and light rain this morning. Look for a high of 72* and scattered rain throughout the day.

Water temperature is running around 69*

Sunrise is at 6:50 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:46 p.m.
