Good morning this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, November 19 at 8:30 a.m.
A range of new Torq surfboards have arrived at the shop. Come check them out while we still have a wide range of sizes.
You probably don’t really need me to tell you this, but waves at The Pier this morning are flat. It is a beautiful crisp morning and perfect for a walk on the beach, paddleboarding or maybe even a canoe.
Winds are blowing north-northwest at 4 knots, and surf zone is clean.
We see north winds today at 5-10 knots, and surf zone will be overall pretty clean today with cool conditions.
We have a low tide at 9:42 a.m. High tide will be at 3:49 p.m., and low tide will be at 10:02 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 1.6 feet at 8 seconds in a south-east medium period swell.
Small waves are in the forecast as side/offshore flow is forecast through the weekend. There’s not much on the horizon, through Monday. There looks to be a swell starting up on Tuesday of next week building bigger for the Thanksgiving holiday work week as low pressure moves into our marine area bringing some warmer temperatures, rain and some onshore flow that could kick up some rideable swell into the middle and latter part of next week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will weaken today into tonight, then weak low pressure will brush the region later tonight into Sunday morning. High pressure will then expand over the region into early next week. Low pressure will pass off the Southeast coast Monday night into Wednesday, followed by high pressure through Thursday. A strong cold front will push through the area Friday, followed by colder conditions next weekend.”
It’s a chilly 47* with sun this morning. Look for a high of 56* and sun today.
Water temperature is dropping off. It’s running around 60*
Sunrise is at 6:53 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:16 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
