Waves at the Washout this morning are waist high with occasional larger sets. Swell is quick and dumpy at the lower tide, but should slow down more with the incoming high.
Winds are west, north-west at 8 knots, and surf zone is mostly glassy this morning.
We see west, south-west winds at 10 knots with higher gusts this afternoon, which might create a little chop and texture on the wave face.
Tide just started coming in, and high tide will be at 1:10 p.m., and low tide will be at 7:35 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.6 feet at 8.3 seconds in a medium period south, south east ground swell.
Low pressure front continues along the northern mid-Atlantic today into tonight. Keep an eye on the flags, with winds coming strong westerly behind the front. Surf will likely lessen in size with the off-shore flow as north-east swell moves past our beaches to Florida Saturday and Sunday. Might be another good weekend to head down south.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A weak upper disturbance will move through on Saturday, then cool high pressure will build in through early next week. Low pressure could affect the area Tuesday and Wednesday.”
It’s a chilly 47* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 63* today with lots of sun throughout the day.
Water temperature is now 59*. Brrrr
Sunrise is at 7:16 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:16 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
