Good morning this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, December 26 at 8:30 a.m.
We are back to normal business hours today from 10:00 a.m to 5:30 p.m.
Hope everyone had a great holiday. The New Folly Pier is open to the public today!
Waves at the Washout this morning are flat-to-knee high and cooooolllldddd. It’s 20* and Sunny this morning.
Winds are light and variable this morning providing clean surface conditions.
Look for winds to remain light and variable throughout the day.
High tide will be at 10:18 this morning with a high tide following at 4:34 in the afternoon.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.3 ft at 4 seconds in SSW swell.
Our flat trend will continue through most of our work week. Thursday we see a high pressure settle itself off the mid-Atlantic moving more offshore. This should begin some onshore flow generating some SE trade swell. Look for a slow building trend beginning Friday morning peaking on Saturday. This swell will slowly fade out Sunday into the beginning of the New Year work week. Look for waist-shoulder high surf throughout that period with warmer temps arriving as well.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “ High pressure will remain the dominant feature through late week. Unsettled weather is possible over the weekend as low pressure approaches from the west.”
It’s cold. 20* this morning. Look for a high of only 48* today with sunny skies.
Water temperature is now 53* and will go down after this weekend’s cold snap. Brrrr
Sunrise is at 7:20 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:19 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
