Good morning this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, January 1st at 8:30 a.m.

Hope everyone had a great New Years weekend. No photos or video this morning due to dense fog and white out conditions.

Waves at the Washout this morning are knee-thigh with some plus sets. Its completely fogged out this morning and almost impossible to see. But with conversations with surfers getting out of the water that’s the report.

Winds are light and variable making for clean conditions.

Look for winds to remain light and variable the remainder of the day.

Low tide this morning is at 10:47 a.m. High tide will be at 4:41 pm.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.6 ft at 9 seconds in a medium-period south-east swell.

Some lingering SE swell still showing up to our shores to begin our work week. Look for this to slowly fade out over the next day or two. Mid-week look for a front to approach our marine area building a southerly wind-swell that will peak overnight on Wednesday and clean up for Thursday before fading out. Late work week looks small to flat so mid week is our window for surf.

Our NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will persist through early this week. A cold front is expected to pass through the region mid week, followed by a return of high pressure through the end of the week and into early next weekend.

Its very foggy at Folly this morning. Can not see the ocean. Look for a high of 66 degrees with some sun moving in this afternoon.

Water temperature went way down over the past few days. It’s 52*, and you’ll need a 4/3 booties, gloves and a hood for this weekend’s swell.

Sunrise is at 7:22 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:24 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
