Good morning this is Luke with you Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, February 10 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at Folly is running about thigh-waist with some bigger sets.
Winds are light out of the SW this morning surf is overall fairly clean.
We expect south winds at 10 knots this afternoon, adding some slight surface texture..
High tide is at 9:44 a.m., and low tide will be at 3:55 p.m. The next high tide is at 10:09 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.6 ft @6 seconds in south wind-swell.
There is a waist+ wave this morning on Folly, looks decent and not to many heads out. This will be followed by a strong storm developing along the cold front just offshore for Saturday. This will kick up a bigger north-east wind swell with chop and drift. Sunday, winds are predicted to come west, but with the storm so close to our coastline, it’s hard to tell which direction the wind will be coming from, but you can bet it’ll be blowing. Hopefully there will be a clean-up session Sunday.
The NOAA Marine Weather forecast for our area calls for: “A cold front will stall just south of the area Friday night. A powerful storm system will develop along the coast Saturday, then move northeast through Sunday. High pressure will briefly build in early next week, then a series of cold fronts will move through mid to late next week.”
It’s 62* and cloudy this morning. Rain looks to move in later today, with a high of 73*.
Water temperature is 57*.
Sunrise is at 7:09 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:59 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
