Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, April 15 at 8:30 a.m.

Coming from the pier this morning at the lower tide, surf looks really fun. It’s around thigh-to-waist high with a stomach-high set this morning. Maybe a little bigger. It is very clean, and will likely get a push in the incoming tide. The longboard set is getting some for sure, but it’s kind of closing out at the Washout.

Winds are west/south-west at 5 knots, and surf zone is very clean.

Look for winds to increase onshore from the south at 15 knots this afternoon, and surf should get choppier as south winds continue later today, but there should be something to ride.

We have a low tide at 10:37 a.m. and high tide will be at 4:44 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3 feet at 7 seconds in a medium period south/south-east swell. This swell should begin to fade as the day wears on.

We’re showing a little south-east  swell at the buoy today, and there are some fun waves as the tide comes in this morning. Surf looks to continue on Sunday, but a little smaller and less organized as a cold front approaches and south-west winds start to pick up This swell should fade off into early next week. High pressure sets up Monday, and we see small conditions into the middle of next week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “Weak high pressure will build across the region today. A cold front will move through the region Sunday night, followed by high pressure through the middle of the week.”

Traffic is already getting crazy. Because it’s 69* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 75* today with clear skies and perfect beach weather.

Water temperature is 67*.

Sunrise is at 6:50 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:49 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
