Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, April 25 at 8:30 a.m.

We have a ton of spring-suits and wetsuit jackets in stock here at the shop. Get ready for the swell coming late week.

Surf at Folly is knee-to-thigh high this morning in a building easterly wind swell.

Winds are east/north-east – side-shore – and blowing at a pretty good clip, at 15 to 20 knots. This is making for choppy, drifty conditions.

Tide is pushing in. We have a high tide at 12:32 p.m.  A low tide will follow later this evening at 6:20 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.3 feet at 5 seconds in a short-period east/north-east wind swell with a higher angle on it. Swell reading is from the east/south-east 1.6 feet at 7 seconds.

We have mixed direction easterly swell in the water this morning, and the waves are jumbled up, but if you want a longboard session, it’s possible to catch a ride. It looks like it will continue to build from the east today. Look for continued easterly winds this afternoon averaging 10 to 15 knots and choppy conditions for your Tuesday. We see higher angled north-east wind swell increase in size for Wednesday with drifty, semi-choppy conditions. This swell begins to rotate more on-shore late Thursday into Friday ahead of storm systems late week. Look for a clean up Saturday as surf size begins to drop. Surf should pick up again in a windy south-west wind swell ahead of another springtime disturbance Sunday into Monday.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will pass to our north today, then shift offshore. A series of storm systems will bring impacts to our area through the end of the week, possibly into early next week. High pressure will then return next week.”

Its 67 this morning with sunny skies. Look for a of 70 with a 30% chance of rain later today.

Water temperature is 71*.

Sunrise is at 6:38 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:56 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
