Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, May 13 at 8:30 a.m.

The SSC-ESA Ocean Surf Shop contest will take place at The Washout today, so wax your sticks and get ready to be a winner.

There will also be a paddle-out to honor Samantha Miller and her family on today from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at 2nd Block on the East end of Folly. Show some community pride, and let this family know that we all mourn with them.

Surf this morning showing knee-high at a very low tide. Might get a push with the incoming, but not looking too good this morning.

Winds are south-east this morning at 10 knots, and the surf zone is semi-choppy and weak.

We see winds from the south at 5 to 8 knots today, so surf conditions should stay about the same all day.

Low tide is at 9:15 a.m., and high tide will be at 3:28 p.m. The next low tide at 9:36 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2 feet at 8 seconds in a medium period ESE swell.

Weak high pressure sets up off the Mid-Atlantic states sending in small south swell today through Sunday, and hopefully pushes a few small wave into our beaches today and Sunday. Nothing to big but perhaps enough to get the logs moving for us. Great weather forecast this weekend just in time for some college graduation beach time. A weak cold front stalls in our area early week, and north-east swell should pick up and pass our beaches by Monday night.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “Weak high pressure will prevail through the weekend. A weak cold front will move in from the north early next week and stall near the area.

Its 71* and sunny this morning. Look for perfect beach weather with a few clouds and a high of 76*.

Water temperature is 75*.

Sunrise is at 6:22 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:10 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
