Good morning this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, June 29 at 9:00 a.m.

Surf at the washout has dropped overnight and is running thigh high and closing out at the low tide. It is super glassy with light offshore winds this morning. If the winds stay light, it could be good on the rising tide if the groundswell holds into the evening.

Winds are north at around 4 knots, and surf zone is nice and clean.  We see winds rotating to the south-east at 5-10 kts this afternoon.

We have a low tide at 11:02 a.m. high tide will fill in at 5:39 p.m. Low tide at midnight.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.3 feet at 10.8 seconds in medium period southeast ground swell.

The dropping tide has caused the waves to drop to knee-thigh and closing out at the washout. If the wind stays offshore into mid afternoon there may be a little push that could be fun on the bigger boards. Looking ahead the end of our week looks to stay down with a chance of decent trade-swell from an offshore high pressure for this weekend. Well keep you posted.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will prevail through early next week. Upper level disturbances could affect the area mid to late next week.”

Water temperature is around 80*

Its 82* with plenty of sunshine this morning. Temps will eventually climb to a high of 89* with sunshine persisting.  It’s gonna be a beautiful day at the beach.

Sunrise is at 6:12 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:31 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
