Monday, July 24

Side-shore, but clean.

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Knee. Pretty small, today.
Traffic: Not too bad.
Parking: Some to be found.
Dangers: None.

Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, July 24 at 8:30 a.m.

Waves at Folly this morning are knee-high.

Winds are west at 5 knots, and surf-zone is clean.

We expect winds from the west today at 10 knots. Surf should stay fairly clean and small today.

Tide is now coming in. High tide is at 1:05 p.m. Low tide is at 7:07 tonight.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.3 feet at 5 seconds in a short-period south-west wind swell, with a longer period east/south-east swell reading 1.6 feet at 11 seconds.

With high pressure set up over our marine area for the foreseeable future, it’s going to be hard to see any REAL surf in our future. Maybe some south-west wind-swell here and there, but it’s looking pretty dang small overall. We have another dome of high pressure forecast to set up again early next week, so not expecting too much surf, unfortunately. We’ll keep you updated.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A weak stationary front will remain inland early this week before dissipating. High pressure will then prevail through late week.”

Water temperature is around 85*.

It’s 78* and sunny this morning.  Expect sunny to partly cloudy and hot today with a high of 86*. Almost cool, bu our standards.

Sunrise is at 6:22 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:28 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
