Good morning this is Chad, with your Folly beach surf report and forecast for Wednesday, October 11 at 8:30 a.m.

We just received a ton of O’Neill full-suits for women. WE are stocked. Get in the water as the cool temperatures are on the rise.

Coming to you from the washout. Surf is looking small this morning. It’s ankle to knee high at best.

Winds are pretty calm with a slight breeze west/north-west at 3 mph.

Look for westerly winds at 5-10 knots this morning, going south at 10 knots this afternoon. This will create slight surface chop on the tiny waves we have.

High tide was at 6:14 a.m. Low tide will be at 12:13 p.m. Next high tide will fill in at 6:29 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 1.6 feet at 14.8 seconds in a long period easterly swell.

Not much surf for today. On Thursday, we see a low pressure system move across Florida, west to east from the Gulf of Mexico and into our marine area. This system looks to reorganize off the coast and could become a tropical system. It’ll push up some surf for sure, but the only fly in the soup is strong winds, starting north-east for Thursday, then rotating east to south-east by Friday afternoon. There could be a short clean up sometime Saturday before a cold front passes our beaches and winds come strong off-shore, beating down the surf Sunday into early in the work week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “ High pressure will prevail through this morning. A series of disturbances will bring unsettled conditions this evening through Saturday, then cool High pressure will build in through early next week.”

Water temperature is around 74*.

It’s a beautiful 69* partly cloudy and cool out this morning. Look for a high of 77* today with clouds. This evening after sunset there is a chance or rain.

Sunrise is at 7:20 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:52 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
