Tuesday Dec 12th

Semi-choppy. Clean faces

Time of Report: 8:45 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Thigh-to-waist. Stomach set every now and again.
Traffic: None
Parking: Plenty.
Dangers: Windy, drifty conditions.

Good morning this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop report and forecast for Tuesday, Dec 12th at 8:45 a.m.

We’ve got you covered on booties and gloves on this chilly morning.

Looks like there is a little surf out there if you are willing to brave the wind chill. Looking thigh to waist high. With some waist+ sets. Could probably catch some long lefts at the pier right now

Winds are out of the NNE at 13mph. Faces are pretty clean from the side offshore angle. Winds will bounce between north and north-east throughout the day around 10-15 mph

High tide was at 7:00 a.m. so we are approaching mid tide. Low tide is at 1:18 p.m. High tide is back at 7:06 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is currently reading 3.9 ft at 9 seconds in a SE medium period wind-swell.

Might be worth getting in the water. About thigh to waist high with a touch bigger set every now and again. High pressure looks to return for most of our work week keeping our surf down. Late work week into our entire weekend, all eyes should focus on the Gulf. Seeing two areas, one off the Yucatan and second is in the Northern Gulf. Both look to show signs of developing into Lows that shove off the coast of Florida this upcoming weekend. We will get more details soon, but for now things look pretty exciting if these models can hold up.

NOAA Forecast: “High pressure will extend over the area this week. A coastal low pressure system may impact the region next weekend into early next week.”

Current water temp: 60*.

45* out. It’s sunny, windy and cold! Look for temps to only get to the mid 50s and breezy today.

Sunrise is 7:10 a.m., Sunset 5:13 p.m.

That’s all from us at Ocean Surf Shop. We’ll check back tomorrow.
