Thursday December 28th

Clean.

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Knee-to-thigh.
Traffic: Not too bad.
Dangers: None.

Good morning this is Luke the KOOK with your Ocean Surf Shop report and forecast for Thursday December 28th at 8:30 am.

Surf has backed off as expected, showing knee to maybe thigh high on this mornings high tide. Looking weak but enough to shove the logs.

Winds are west at around 10mph and the surf is clean.

We had a high tide just before report time. Look for the tide to drain out at 2:25 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is currently reading 4.3ft at 6 seconds from the SSW.

Surf as mentioned has backed off showing knee to thigh high early this Thursday morning. Surf should continue staying down as high pressure sits over our general area. This trend takes us into mid-week of next week. Long range models suggesting that a nice low forms in the Northern Gulf of Mexico this time next week sliding off the SE coast providing sufficient onshore flow and surf along with it. Nothing set in stone but models have been pretty consistent.

NOAA Forecast: “ A dry cold front will push across the area today, followed by high pressure through the weekend. Another cold front could impact the region early next week.”

Current water temp: 58*

It is 50* with clouds mixed with sun Look for a high of 60*.

Sunrise is 7:18 a.m., Sunset 5:18 p.m.

That’s all from us at Ocean Surf Shop. We’ll check back tomorrow.
