Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop report and forecast for Monday, January 16 at 8:30 a.m.
All of our boardshorts have been marked down 40%, and we have a great selection.
New Gary Wilson boards have arrived in the shop. Come check out the new selection.
Surf is pretty small this morning. It is knee to thigh high.
Currently winds are west around 5 knots, and surf zone is very clean as the tide moves in this morning. Best for the log if you have to get wet.
High tide will be at 11:31 a.m., and low tide will be at 5:49 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is currently reading 2.3 feet at 6 seconds in a short period south-east wind swell.
There is a little longboard wave as the tide moves in this morning, but we don’t expect too much as the tide falls this afternoon and winds pick up from the west as a cold front moves through our marine area. We see cold temperatures and very cold weather for the next five to seven days with off-shore winds keeping surf small for South Carolina beaches late mid-week and into the weekend with very cold temperatures, especially this weekend.
NOAA Forecast: “A cold front will move through today, followed by cool high pressure through Thursday. A strong cold front is expected to push through on Friday, followed by Arctic high pressure through early next week.more high pressure returns next weekend.”
Current water temp: 57*.
It’s 57* this morning with cloudy conditions. We have a high of 57* with clouds today and a light shower from time to time.
Sunrise is 7:21 a.m., Sunset 5:37 p.m.
That’s all from us at Ocean Surf Shop. We’ll check back tomorrow.
