Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop report and forecast for Saturday, Mar 23rd at 8:15 a.m.

Tons of new gear and boards are in so come check it out!

Wetsuits at the shop are marked down 20% both 3/2s and 4/3s come get em!

Surf has picked up running chest-head with head+ sets. Dust of those boards ‘cause it looks like a pretty find day of surf is in store. Faces are fairly clean/slight bump with west/southwest winds. Lots of water coming off the high tide.

Winds are west/southwest around 5-10 kts. Look for winds to trend out of the northwest as the day progresses.

We had a high tide at 7:35 a.m. Our only low tide will be 1:42 p.m. Next high tide will be just after sunset at 7:59 p.m.

Edisto Buoy is reading 10 ft at 10 seconds from the SE. This will start to drop throughout the day.

We got us some surf today. Looks to improve as winds go offshore this afternoon.  Should be some waves all day. This low scoots off the North Carolina coast and hangs out offshore for a couple days. Surf should stick around although gradually loose steam from today’s peak event.

NOAA Marine Forecast: “Low pressure will move away from the area today, then a cold front will sweep through this afternoon. High pressure will build in Sunday through Monday night. A storm system will impact the area Wednesday into Thursday, followed by high pressure.”

The water temp is around 62*. It’s starting to warm up!

Its  62* degrees cloudy with rain this morning. Look for a high of 70* and partly cloudy later this afternoon.

Sunrise is 7:18 a.m., Sunset 7:33 p.m.

That’s all from us at Ocean Surf Shop. We’ll check back tomorrow.
