Semi-choppy

Time of Report: 7 am
Wave Forecast: knee
Traffic: Not too bad.
Parking: Some.
Dangers: None

Good morning this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, April 26 at 8:30 a.m.

We have a ton of spring-suits and jackets in the shop, so as we get some spring swell, come check it out and stay warm with Ocean Surf Shop.

Surf at Folly is pretty flat knee high in drifty NE windy conditions.

Winds are currently pretty strong out of the NE about 10-20mph making for choppy conditions.

We have a high tide approaching 10:00 a.m. with the tide dropping out to low at 3:25 p.m with incoming tide into the evening.

The Edisto buoy is reading 3.6 feet at 5 seconds in short period NE wind-swell.

We don’t expect much in the way of surf through Friday, but we do expect surf to pick up some as easterly winds blow and rotate more south-easterly through the weekend, pushing up some easterly wind-swell later Saturday into Sunday. Nothing great, but something to play around with on a high-volume stick. This trend continues Monday before fading out during the middle of next week.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A weak trough will drop south of the area today. High pressure builds back into the region late week through the early part of next week.”

Water temperature is hovering right around 70*, so spring suits and jackets are the call for mornings and evenings.

It’s a beautiful day currently sunny mixed with clouds around 65*. Look for sun and a high of 71* today.

That’s all from us at Ocean Surf check back tomorrow.
