Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report on this chilly Saturday, May 11th at 8:45 a.m.
Come by and check out our new summer T-shirts and Hats. We have every color and design from Beau-Gator to Playa’ Hater.
Surf at the Washout is about knee-thigh high and weak with the incoming high tide.
Currently the winds are out of the NNE at 12mph and a little gusty. We see north winds today around 12-15mph this morning, decreasing to 10mph and then turning southeast late in the evening.
We have a high tide at 11:11 a.m. Low tide at 5:01 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 1 foot at 12 seconds from the east.
As mentioned its pretty small this morning, but looks to be a beautiful day at the beach. Expect waves to be pretty small this weekend. Early work week next week we may get a little help with a approaching system that looks to generate a small shot of South swell late Monday into Tuesday we will keep you posted.
Your NOAA Marine Weather forecast for our local waters calls for: “High pressure will prevail through the weekend into early next week. A storm system could affect the area by the middle of next week.”
Water temperature is hovering right around 73, so spring suits and jackets are the call for mornings. It’s currently 65 and sunny. Today we see a high of 73* and sunshine.
Sunrise 6:23 a.m., Sunset 8:09 p.m.
That’s all from us at Ocean Surf, check back tomorrow.
