Thursday, May 30

Side-shore, clean. Textured.

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Flat.
Traffic: Not too bad. Some.
Parking: Some.
Dangers: None.

Good morning, this is MC Master Bates spinning up your surf report for Thursday, May 30 at 8:30 a.m.

Come by the shop and check out our selection of boards. We have TONS of new shapes from Secula, Orion, Stewart, Pyzel, Rusty, G. Wilson, Quiet Flight and all the softboards you need to get you out there. Come get immersed in Ocean.

Beach renourishment is in full swing in front of the Tides Hotel, and looks like they are piping some ground water out to sea, so sand bars will hopefully build for the next swell. We’ll see…

Surf at Folly is flat, with a side shore north wind at 15 knots. Surf zone is textured and clean.

Not much to look at today at the lower tide, and we don’t expect much of a push later. Looks like a better day to throw up a foil-kite. At least this morning.

We expect moderately strong north winds for most of your Thursday, until mid/late afternoon, when wind become moderate from the south-east.

We are coming off a high tide at 2:09 p.m. The next low tide will be at 8:16 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 2.3ft from mixed directions at 3 seconds. No swell at the buoy. No swell at the beach.

We have small surf in the forecast for Friday and starting into the weekend. We have high pressure dominating our weather, and it will stay smack dab over our marine area. If it bumps slightly north and east perhaps we could see a thigh-high longboard wave in the form of a small trade-wind style swell Sunday into Monday, but nothing to push the guys that want to work on their air-reverse.

Your Nation Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will extend across the area through early next week.”

The water temperature is hovering right around 78*, so spring suits and jackets are the call for mornings.

It’s currently 74 and sunny at the beach. We see beautiful weather once again, with a high of 81* and sun.

Sunrise 6:13 a.m., Sunset 8:22 p.m.

That’s all from us at Ocean Surf, check back tomorrow.
