Good morning, this is Luke da Kook with your Ocean Surf Shop Surf Report and forecast for Wednesday, September 25 at 8:00 a.m.
Waves are pretty flat still not looking to hot!
We have wetsuits on the floor, with lots of spring-suits and S/S full suits on the floor. You’ll need one, and it looks like tropical season is going to heat up, and not necessarily in a good way.
We have a low tide at report time, high tide at 2:12 p.m. this afternoon with a dropping tide the remainder of today..
Winds are light out of the South picking up a bit throughout the day.
Edisto Buoy is reading 3.3ft at 10 seconds from the east.
Still pretty flat as previously mentioned but its about to ramp up pretty quickly. Tropical storm Helene now sitting near the Yucatan is forecasted to head our general direction into the Florida Panhandle. Meanwhile its forecasted to further strengthen into a major Hurricane. That said this will clearly affect our marine area. Winds trend hard SE tomorrow and building conditions begin. Looking like Friday morning we should have our strongest onshore winds before Helene moves further north away from us. Winds never look to go offshore but winds should substantially decline Friday evening. Hope for some leftovers Saturday morning. Also a nice low forming in the Central Atlantic NHC giving it a 60% percent chance of developing.
Its Sunny out with a and perfect. 78*. Look for perfect fall beach weather, with a high of 83* and sun all day.
Sunrise is at 7:10 a.m., Sunset 7:14 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
