Good morning, this is Luke Da Kook with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, October 9, 2024

Semi-choppy

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Knee-Thigh+
Traffic: Not too bad.
Parking: Some.
Dangers: None.

God Speed Florida.

We have plenty of neoprene jackets and spring suits. Come see them so you can get in the surf this week. It’s supposed to get chilly.

Surf is knee-waist high in drifty NE wind-swell. Winds are side-offshore NNE some clean faces but nothing go great.

Winds NE at 15-20mph today

We just came off a low tide  before report time,  have high tide at 12:46 p.m , low tide will be at 7:32 p.m.

Edisto Buoy is reading 5.6 feet at 6 seconds in a short period swell

Surf currently showing some minor localized NE wind-swell waist high sets its still pretty drifty. This NE wind is due to a high pressure sitting to our north. NE wind is the worst but this same high pressure is blocking the brunt of Hurricane Milton from entering the Carolinas. All eyes should be on Hurricane Milton as it is forecasted to make landfall later today. NE winds will continue to ramp up as Milton later tomorrow shoves off the Central Florida coast. Winds are forecasted to die down Friday and even turn offshore on Saturday. Milton looks to meander off the SE coast in our window for a couple days. SE Ground-swell should be expected peaking head high+ Friday and beginning to slowly fade from there on out. The good news is the close proximity of Milton it should be a much short period Ground-swell 10-12 seconds as opposed to the previous Kirk swell. That should generally help the shape of the waves out a bit. All for now Pray for Florida and get ready to surf.

It’s 71* and sunny. Look for a high of 80* today with some wind.

Sunrise is at 7:19 a.m., Sunset 6:56 p.m.
