Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, January 20th at 8:30 a.m.

Clean.

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Flat.
Traffic: Not too bad.
Parking: Some.
Dangers: None.

Surf around Folly has gone flat, offshore winds blew our little wind-swell down  its Cold bundle up.

Winds are out of the north 10-15mph surf is clean. Winds should trend more NE late today.

We have a high tide at 12:12 p.m. The next low tide will be at sunset at 6:21 p.m.

Edisto Bouy is reading 4.9 feet at 5 seconds in a NW short period wind swell pushing away from shore.

Again Monday looking pretty flat for us. We do have high pressure moving offshore later today winds will begin to rotate more NE. We also have a broad area of low pressure coming out of the Gulf of Mexico. Expecting some minor high angled wind-swell to develop Tuesday-Tuesday night around waist high or so. So we get some surf but keep your expectations in check. Also it will be about as cold as its been all winter long. Surf goes more dormant after mid-week.

Our guys and gals over at NOAA say: “A cold front will move offshore this morning, followed by arctic High pressure into Monday night. A storm system originating in the Gulf of Mexico will move up the Southeast coast Tuesday through Tuesday night, bringing impactful weather. Another weaker storm system could move up the coast Thursday night into Friday.”

The water temperature is around 48*.

It is currently windy and 56*. Look for a high of 60* with wind and maybe some rain throughout the day.

Sunrise was at 7:20 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:40 p.m.

Thanks for tuning in for the Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
