Good morning, this is Charlie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, Febuary 1st at 9:00 a.m.
Taste of Folly is today, so keep that in mind when driving out to the island. You can get to our shop through the handicap entrance off West Erie.
There is surf out there today. It’s pretty clean, knee to waist high with some bigger sets coming in. Definitely worth getting out there today and fighting the traffic.
Tragically, my top tier comedy will have to wait this morning – I know, devastating. But even surf reporters gotta catch some waves.
Winds are coming from the NW at 7 mph with gusts up to 15 mph. Winds will mellow down a bit as we get closer to the afternoon.
We’ll have a high tide at 9:44 a.m. and a low tide this afternoon at 3:54 p.m. The next high tide will be later tonight at 10:00 p.m.
Edisto Bouy is reading 4.6 feet at 6.7 seconds in a slowly developing south swell.
Looks like we’re getting off this flat spell this week. Nothing crazy but there will be some movement in the water. Keep an eye out for the report/
The water temperature is 49*. That’s 4/3, booties, hoods and gloves around these parts.
It is 54* with a high of 59* and clouds with some sun from time to time.
Sunrise was at 7:13 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:52 p.m.
