Good morning, this is Luke da Kook with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, February 6th at 7:00 a.m.

Semi-choppy

Time of Report: 7
Wave Forecast: Knee-to-thigh.
Traffic: Not too bad.
Parking: Some.
Dangers: None.

Surf is on the down side knee high or so in high angled NE wind-swell. Water is starting to warm back up a little bit.

Winds are light and variable early turning more southerly and picking up 10-15mph as the day moves on.

We will have a low tide at 7:15 a.m. and a high tide around 1:25 p.m. Followed by another low tide later tonight around 7:25 p.m.

Edisto Bouy is reading 4.3 feet at 7 seconds in NE short period swell.

Surf not doing its thing currently. Pretty small for the foreseeable future. High pressure dominates over our marine area over the weekend timeframe. Looking further ahead there is hope as we have a system looking to approach early work week next bringing some much needed onshore flow. Im going to wait to give specific details until models create more consistency but for now its looking like we should get some relief from these flatter days.

Our guys and gals at NOAA predict “A cold front will stall over the area today and tonight, then lift north Thursday. Another front may approach the area Friday night, then high pressure will build in through Sunday. A storm system will bring unsettled weather to the area early to mid-next week”.

The water temperature is around 50*.

Very nice day shaping up once this fog burns off currently in the upper 50s. Partly cloudy with a high of 64* by mid afternoon.

Sunrise was at 7:12 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:57 p.m.

Thanks for tuning in for the Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
