Good morning 843 and beyond! This is Luke Da Kook with your Sunday September 22nd surf report & forecast from the Pier.

semi clean

Time of Report: 8:30
Wave Forecast: waist to belly
Traffic: not to bad
Parking: some
Dangers: none

All neoprene goods are starting to show up, so come get those suits before they are gone!

Surf has picked up a bit showing waist to belly high, in a combo of high angled NE wind-swell and ESE ground swell from Gabrielle. Not lining up all that great but the most surf weve had in a while.

Winds are NE 10-20 mph for today adding some drift and funk to it.

We are approaching a high tide at 9:02 a.m. , low tide will be at 3:11 p.m.,

The Edisto Buoy is showing 5.6ft at 11 seconds from the E.

Surf has picked up thanks to Hurricane Gabrielle, Gabrielle has turned to the north and our swell generated should start a fading trend later this afternoon. The good news is the Atlantic is waking up a bit more on the back end of our Hurricane season. Two areas of development are highlighted at the moment. Current models suggest a hurricane brewing just north of the Caribbean islands tossing a nice SE ground swell pulse towards us this coming weekend. Secondly, a more modest low looks to shape up around the Bahamas late work week. Its early and these storms have a long way to go before we make official calls but something to watch as this week moves on. In the meantime, the work week we should still see thigh high ENE wind-swell with NE wind shifting to more onshore SE wind-swell mid-late work week.

Water temperature is around 76*.

It is 73* this morning and sunny Look for a high of 80* at the beach today with a mix of sun and clouds.

Sunrise was 7:06 a.m., Sunset 7:20 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
