October 9th Washout
Good morning! This is Eazy-E with your surf report for Thursday, Oct 9th at 9:30 am.
Chunky waves coming in at the Washout around the stomach high range, but soft with the high tide. Tons of energy is in the water and lots of water is moving, just not super organized or lining up in any way at all. There are some bigger chest high sets rolling in but that gusty NE wind around 20kts is not helping the shape and fun factor one bit.
Winds are North-East at 15-20kts with 30kt gust at times today. With those strong winds there also seems to be quite a bit of moisture as well. Tons of rain showers on the books today, so pack your jackets and umbrellas for the conditions. Overall, the sender session today might NOT be the call but I bet you still score some buttery end section Jammers if you did make it out on the ole shred-sled today.
High tide is at 10:06 a.m. We have a low tide at 4:20 p.m. Next high tide will be 10:29 p.m. The Edisto Buoy is 9.5 feet at 7 seconds from the NE.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for the area calls for: “A cold front will drop south through the area this morning with inland high pressure prevailing into early next week. Low pressure will develop off the Southeast U.S. coast this weekend”. So lets hope that front has some shredable swell attached to it!
It is currently 68* and Rainy. Expect rain all day with a 90% overall chance throughout the day.
Sunrise was 7:20 a.m. Sunset 6:55 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
