Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, October 25 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at the Washout is thigh-to-waist high. Occasionally it’s a little bigger. Looks kind of fun on the incoming tide this morning.

Winds are slack this morning and surf is bumpy but clean.

Look for south-west winds this afternoon at 10 knots. This will add slight surface chop to the surf zone for afternoon.

High tide will be at 11:21 a.m., and low tide will be at 5:47 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 3.6 feet at 6 seconds in a medium-period east/south-east swell.

We have a small, rideable, clean surf zone this morning with rain showers in the area. This will likely drop out some this afternoon on the lower tide with a little south-west wind keeping things semi-choppy. It should at least stay rideable today, especially for a high volume board. A cold front approaches for tonight, and surf should be smaller for mid-week as high pressure sets up over our marine area.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “Low pressure will pass off the Carolina coast today. A cold front will move through the area tonight, followed by high pressure through mid week. A low pressure system will then impact the region late week. High pressure is expected to return early next week.”

It’s 69* and raining this morning. Look for rain to end this afternoon with sun behind clouds and a high of 75*.

Water temperature is 74*.

Sunrise is at 7:31 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:35 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
