Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, April 16 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at The Washout this morning is knee high.

Winds are north/north-east at 15 knots, and surf-zone is semi-choppy, weak, side-shore and drifty down the beach.  It looks pretty bad this morning, and we don’t expect much improvement today.

Look for winds to blow north-east at 15 to 20 this morning, going east at 10 to 15 knots later today. Look for small, choppy surf today.

We have a high tide at 11:22 a.m., and a low tide at 5:10 p.m. The next high tide is well after dark.

Virtual buoy readings are showing 1.5 ft. at 10 seconds in a long period, high-angled east/north-east swell.

A front stalls off-shore today and through the weekend, and it’s looking like light winds for the next four days and there is not much swell through early into the next work week. Not the best forecast.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “A stationary front will linger offshore and to the south through early next week as a series of low pressure systems pass to the east. A cold front will move across the region by the middle of next week.”

It is cloudy and 61* this morning. Look for a high of 67* and clouds this afternoon.

Water temperature is around 68*.

Sunrise is at 6:47 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:50 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
