Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, May 24 at 8:30 a.m.

We just received a full shipment of Torq boards at the shop. From fish, to fun boards, to longboards, come see the new selection.

Waves at The Washout this morning are ankle to knee high in a short period south wind swell. It’s not rideable this morning, and we don’t expect it to pick up much.

Winds are south/south-west at 5 to 10 knots, and surf-zone is semi-choppy.

Looking for winds to come out of the south at 10 to 15 with gusts to 20 this afternoon. We see a choppy surf zone later today with some drift up the beach.

Low tide will be at 10 a.m., and high tide will be at 4:23 p.m. The next low tide is at 10:31 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.0 feet at 4 seconds in a shorth-period, small south wind swell.

We see smaller surf through Thursday morning, with a slight uptick in south wind swell on the higher tide Thursday evening. Surf increases in a choppy south/south-west wind swell Friday. This cleans up and drops rapidly for Saturday morning. Hopefully there will be some clean leftovers Saturday. Surf looks to fall off a bit for Sunday as high pressure sets up once again.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A few weather features will lead to periods of unsettled weather through Friday. Drier conditions should then return this weekend into early next week.”

It’s 79* with a mix of clouds and sunshine this morning. Look for a mix of clouds today with a high of 81* and a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm.

Water Temperature is still around 78*. Here comes the bathwater.

Sunrise is at 6:15 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:18 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
