Time of Report: 05/03/2021
Wave Forecast: knee-thigh
Traffic: slow
Parking: should be easy

Good morning, this is Scott with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, May 3 at 8:30 a.m.

We have our rental wetsuits marked down at low prices if you want to come grab a suit for cheap.

Surf at The Washout this morning is around knee-to-thigh high this morning.  Probably ridable on the longboard if you need to get wet.

Winds are south/south-east at 7 knots, and surf has a little chop to it.

The afternoon forecast is showing south/south-west winds at 11 knots.

The tide is coming in and high tide will be at 2:29 p.m. Low tide will be at 8:21 p.m.

Virtual buoy readings are showing 1.3 ft. at 6 seconds in a mixed period East-South-East wind swell.

If you are dying to get out a bigger board is better. There will be a small sign of that South wind-swell and there are a few thigh high bumps in the water. The water will be textured with onshore winds.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “High pressure will extend across the region through the weekend. A series of storm systems will bring unsettled weather for portions of next week. A cold front may shift offshore late week bringing an end to the unsettled weather.”

This morning is cloudy and 74* on the beach. Look for an overcast day with some mixed in fog. There will be a high of 78* today.

Water temperature is up to around 71*. It’ll be going up a few degrees this week.

Sunrise is at 6:31 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:03 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
