April 22 Monday

Semi-choppy

Time of Report: 8 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Knee-Thigh+
Traffic: Not too bad.
Parking: Plenty.
Dangers: None.

Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop report and forecast for Monday, April 22nd at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at Folly is knee to thigh high maybe a slightly plus peak here and there. Overall its windy and cold and gutless with some drift. Not looking to hot but there is a little wave.

Winds are moderate/strong out of the NNE at the moment and winds should trend more Northerly as tbe day moves on.

We just came off a high tide,  have a low tide at 1:43 pm. We have a high tide at 8:12 pm.

Edisto Buoy is reading 5.9 ft at 6 seconds out of the east north/east.

Surf is thigh high and pretty drifty although there is a wave to ride if youre in the mood. This swell will gradually fade out especially around the dropping tides with the Easterly direction of the swell. Surf looks to slow down a bit over the middle portion of the week. Looking at another wave maker this coming weekend. Massive strong high pressure to our north-east will generate some onshore flow, then eventually will be paired with a low/front to our West to combination should set up a really nice fetch of wave production over the weekend if modes stay the same.

NOAA Marine Forecast: “A slow moving front will bring unsettled weather to the region this weekend. High pressure will then return and prevail into the middle of next week.

The water temp is around 67*.

It is 54* with clouds. Look for continued clouds and sun returning later today with a high of 65*

Sunrise is 6:42 a.m., Sunset 7:55 p.m.

That’s all from us at Ocean Surf Shop. We’ll check back tomorrow.
