April 8th Washout

Good morning, this is EAZY-E with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, April 8, 2025.

Surf at the Washout is knee- waist high on the lower tide this morning. There seems to be a little bit of texture on the wave faces coming from the NW winds but overall looks like a mid length or anything with some liters could deem a good time.

Edisto buoy is currently reading 5.2ft at 5 seconds in a medium period swell from the West.

Winds are gusty today from the NW at 10-15kt, also turning more N as the day expires.

Low tide is coming up and will be at 11:41am and high tide will be at 6:05pm

The surf is down a bit in size and power from this epic weekend we have had, but still shapes up for a clean wiggle on the bigger boards if it’s a must. Not too much on the horizon for good surf this week so maybe smart to get one more sendy session out of the way if ya have time.

Our friends at NOAA predict, “A weak backdoor cold front will slide across the region tonight. High pressure will build in behind the front and remain over the region through Thursday. A cold front will impact southeast Georgia and South Carolina Thursday night into Friday night. A large area of high pressure will dominate the weather pattern this weekend into early next week”. With that being said maybe next week will have some nugs for us to catch!

The water temperature is around 69*

It’s currently 56* with a high of about 68* and should start to show this sun in the next hour or two.

Sunrise was at 6:34am and sunset will be at 7:45pm.

Thanks for tuning in for the Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
