Time of Report: 7:00
Wave Forecast: knee-thigh
Traffic: Kinda busy.
Parking: Some to be found. Still have our parking restrictions
Dangers: None

Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, August 16 at 7:30 a.m.

Gary Wilson, Album, Roberts and Jason Rowells boards arrived this week. Come check them out while we still have a good selection.

New parking restrictions in place on Folly Beach. Please see the City’s Web site for more information.

Mandatory mask ordinance is in effect for Folly.

Surf at Folly this morning is knee-to-thigh high few longboard waves to be found early.

Winds are west north-west at 5 mph this morning making for clean surface conditions.

Look for winds to remain somewhat light from the west 5-10 mph.

We just came off a high tide at 6:11 a.m. Low tide is at 12:17 a.m., and high tide will be at 6:43 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is only reading 4.6 ft. at 4 seconds in a short period SSW wind-swell.

Surf remains small but rideable in the knee-thigh high range. Surf should remain the same to begin our work week. Look for a small uptick mid-week Tropical Storm Josephine is now in the western Atlantic. Unfortunately Josephine hits unfavorable conditions right when she enters our swell window and begins to loose steam. It’ll likely start showing some longer-period swell Tuesday into-the latter part of next week. Nothing too big, but might be a few fun ones. Also two new waves just came off Africa in the Eastern Atlantic are areas to watch for the long-term.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A weak cold front will slowly move across the area today and tonight. A trough of low pressure will then will develop over the region and persist through much of the week. High pressure could return next weekend.”

It’s 80* with clouds this morning. Look for a high of 87* and a 40% chance of a thunderstorm this afternoon.

Water temperature is 86*.

Sunrise is at 6:43 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:02 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
