Semi-choppy

Time of Report: 8 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Flat. Maybe knee.
Traffic: Not too bad.
Parking: Some.
Dangers: None.

Good morning. This is Luke the kook with your surf report for Friday, August 2, 2024

Surf at Folly is ankle-knee high winds are on it out of the southerly direction. Overall looks pretty crappy.

Winds are light south and should pick up 10-20mph later today.

We just came off a early am High tide, a low tide around 1:02 p.m. , another High tide is at 7:34 p.m.

The Edisto buoy reads 3.3 feet at 5 seconds in SW wind-swell.

Surf again still on the downside not looking great at all at the moment. The good news is we have now invest 97l now in the central Caribbean. Models now having it going into the Gulf so a little more west than my last report was showing. Models have it getting better organized in the eastern gulf near florida then its forecasted to head easterly over florida into our honey hole swell window where surf should build pretty quickly, timing looks like Monday now for that happening. The unfortunate news is that winds will be pretty hard onshore until this low/named storm moves further north where winds should turn more NW. LOTS CAN CHANGE models have had nearly 0 consistency with this system. but for now it looks like we will see some weather for a few days here in the low country from potential Debby.

It’s currently 85* humid and hot already. Look for sun mixed with clouds with a chance of t-storms later on.

Sunrise 6:35 a.m., Sunset 8:19 p.m.

That’s all from us at Ocean Surf, check back tomorrow.
