Wave Forecast: stomach +
Traffic: busy folly parade
Parking: limited
Dangers: Santa is in town

Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, Dec. 14 at 8:00 a.m.

The Folly Beach Christmas parade is today, and the road to the island will be closed at noon until around 2 p.m. for the parade. So come get some Christmas spirit tomorrow here at Folly.

Surf at Folly this morning is averaging waist-to-stomach high in ESE swell.

Winds are light SW currently putting a slight surface texture to it.

Look for winds to rotate more W and pick up 10-15mph later today.

We have a high tide at report time, low tide will be at 3:26 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 5.2 ft. at 8 seconds in an east/south-east swell.

Surf looks decent this morning running waist to belly high. Winds are beginning to rotate more westerly and should help clean the surf up a bit. This swell will begin its fading trend all through Saturday into Sunday. More South swell ahead of a cold front on Tuesday so waves are in the forecast.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will build from the west through the weekend and then slide offshore on Monday. A cold front will then cross the area Tuesday, followed by high pressure into late next week. Low pressure should then develop along the coast next weekend.”

It is 51* with cloudy skies and showers this morning. Look for a high of 63*Rain clearing later today.

Water temperature is now 57*

Sunrise is at 7:13 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:14 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
