Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, December 20 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at Folly this morning is flat-knee high at best. Looking weak overall.
Winds are north at 5-10kts
Look for winds to remain light and variable through the remainder of the day.
We have a high tide at 11:32 a.m., and a low tide will be at 5:34 p.m.
Virtual buoy data is reading 2.9 ft at 4 seconds in SE swell.
High pressure builds into our area from into Saturday, and we should see off-shore flow and small surf through the next few days as we don’t expect any strong systems to impact our marine area. Looking ahead long-range late in the work week we see a major front approaching our marine area building surf significantly Thursday-Friday out of the SE. Hopefully we can either get a cleanup sesh Thursday night of early Friday morning.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure today will give way to a developing low pressure system tonight. By late Monday, high pressure will build into the area and persist until a strong cold front impacts the region on Thursday and Friday.”
It’s 54* and cloudy with showers. Look for a high of 58* with showers ending later in the day.
Water temperature has dropped to 56*.
Sunrise is at 7:16 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:16 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
