Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, December 27 at 8:30 a.m.
This will be my last report for the next few months. Just want to thank Ocean and Bates for letting me give you all these reports for the last 2 years. Bates will be providing the reports and keeping us in the loop! Cheers everyone
We will be open for normal business hours today from 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Happy holidays!
Surf at Folly this morning is ankle-knee high.
Winds are north/north-west at 10 knots, and surf zone is clean and weak.
Look for winds to be light and variable throughout the remainder of today.
Low tide is at 11:57 a.m., and high tide will be at 6:05 p.m.
Virtual buoy data is reading 2.3ft at 10 seconds from the ESE.
Surf stays down the rest of or weekend and the trend continues into our start to the work week. Surf looks to come back to life mid week as high pressure shifts well offshore and begins to produce a trade-swell out of the ESE direction. Look for waist high surf to start filling in Weds. This trade-swell will then be enhanced as a strong cold front approaches our marine area Thursday and further builds our surf into the head high area. Winds will be a factor Thursday but Friday and Saturday look to have some promise. Either way we can plan on surfing a lot in this coming week!
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will prevail into Monday. A dry cold front will pass through the region Monday night, followed by high pressure into mid week. Another cold front will likely impact the area
late week, then high pressure will build over the area late week into next weekend.”
It’s cold. It is 34* at the beach this morning with bright sunshine. We expect a high of 54* with sun all day.
Water temperature has dropped to 54*.
Sunrise is at 7:20 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:20 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
