Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, December 28th at 8:30 a.m.
Hope that everyone had a great Christmas! We’re open regular hours this week and closed on New Years Day.
Surf at Folly this morning is waist to belly high and semi clean early.
Winds are light NE early making for semi clean conditions.
Look for winds to remain light NE throughout the day.
We are coming off of high tide at 9:30 A.m. Low tide is at 3:21 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.9 ft. at 8 seconds in an SE swell.
Surf looks decent this morning waist to belly high and semi clean. A bit mushy and soft, best bet would be as the tide backs out over the next hour or two. Looking to late work week, high pressure pushes offshore and could see a smaller trade swell with cleaner, warmer conditions. Thursday and Friday might end up being a smaller, but more manageable day with nice weather. We see another cold front approaching our waters late in the weekend, pushing in another south wind swell on Sunday. Lots of opportunity of for waves throughout the week, just keep your eyes on winds.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail across the western Atlantic through Sunday while a weak coastal trough remains nearby. A cold front will move through Monday morning, followed by high pressure through late next week. A cold front will move through Friday night"
It’s partly cloudy and 61* this morning. Look for a high of 70* with cloudy skies.
Water temperature is around 55*. Come grab some gear.
Sunrise is at 7:19 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:19 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
