Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, December 7 at 7:30 a.m.
Surf at Folly is flat with an occasional knee-high set.
Winds are light and variable making clean conditions early.
Look for north winds to pick up 10-15mph later today keeping things somewhat clean.
We just came off a low at 6:24. Look for a high tide at 12:42 and another low after sunset at 7:06 p.m.
Virtual buoy data is showing 1.1 ft at 9 seconds in a small easterly ground swell.
Unfortunately we don’t expect too much surf over the next several days as we see off-shore flow in the forecast much of next week. We should see another quick shot of south wind swell as a cold front passes late next weekend.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A cold front will push offshore today as low pressure pulls away from the Carolina coast. High pressure will build over the area Tuesday and will prevail into next weekend. A cold front is expected to cross the region Sunday, followed by high pressure and cooler conditions early next week.”
It’s cloudy with some passing light showers this morning. Look for a high of 61 and clouds and showers to persist through the remainder of today.
Water temperature is around 61*.
Sunrise is at 7:08 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:12 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
