Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, February 1 at 8:30 a.m.
*Marathon going on this morning down by 10th block through the washout area*
A new shipment of Album surfboards has arrived, as well as some beautiful Epoxy Rusty 419 fish shapes. Come pick up a new stick and get ready for spring.
We’ve got some new tarmac at The Washout, and it looks like they cleared a lot of the sand from the parking spots on the east side of the road. Looking pretty clean up there for now.
Surf at Folly this morning is waist-to-stomach high and pretty fun.
Winds are north/north-west at 10 knots, and the surf zone is clean as a result.
Look for north-west winds to continue through the remainder of the day 10 knots or less.
High tide will be at 11:18 a.m., and low tide will be at 5:22 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 6.6 feet at 8 seconds in SE swell.
Surf looks fun this morning waist high early with some plus sets on the incoming tide push up to chest high. This swell will drop quickly as the wave producing low that passed our marine area last night did not sit very long in our swell window. Sunday looks small and the trend continues into the early work week. Mid-week looks to ramp up again with a decent shot of SSE swell from a strong front that looks to push through our coastal area. Friday things look to clean up after the fronts passage. We will keep you posted.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A secondary cold front will move through this evening, followed by high pressure through Wednesday. A strong cold front will move through Thursday and Thursday night, followed by high pressure into next weekend.”
It’s 44* this morning with cloudy skies. Look for a high of 54* cloudy skies today.
Water temperature is 54*. You’ll need at least a 4/3, and booties to be comfortable in the surf.
Sunrise is at 7:14 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:50 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
