Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, February 22, at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at Folly this morning running waist-to-stomach high. It’s soft at the higher tide and it’s pretty blown out.
Winds have subsided some since yesterday, still moderate NNE around 10-15mph.
Look for winds to continue NNE today around 10+ mph and should continue the subsiding trend into the afternoon hours.
We had a high tide at 7:13 a.m., and we have a low tide at 1:09 p.m., and a high tide will at 7:22 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 6.6 ft. at 6 seconds in a short period wind-swell out of the East-North/East.
Surf is running waist to belly high in high angled ENE wind-swell this Saturday morning. Some texture due to the side-offshore NNE winds but overall clean faces can be found. Look for this ENE swell to begin to fade later today and into the remainder of the weekend as strong high pressure settles back into our marine area. Looking ahead you can expect a decent shot of SSW wind-swell to begin to develop Tuesday ahead of a front chest high sets by afternoon. Wednesday afternoon to Thursday morning looks to be the cleanup time we will keep you in the loop as this progresses.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will persist across the area this weekend. A warm front will move through the area and lift north of the region early next week. A pair of cold fronts will bring unsettled weather during the middle of next week, before high pressure returns late next week.”
It’s a chilly 37* and sunny this morning. Look for things to warm up slightly showing a high of around 54 with ample sunshine at Folly.
Water temperature dropped to 56*. Look for a high of 46* today and wind with sun. ac
Sunrise is at 6:55 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:09 p.m.
