Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, February 9 at 8:00 a.m.
New Catch Surf, Beater and Odysea soft-boards have arrived at Ocean Surf Shop. Come check ‘em out.
Surf at Folly this morning running ankle to knee high but enough to push a log.
Winds are north-west at 5-10 mph making for clean surface conditions.
Look for winds to become ENE later this afternoon but remaining light to put some texture to the surface.
We had a high tide at 7:45 a.m., low tide to follow at 2:00 p.m
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.0 feet at 8 seconds in a ESE swell.
Looking pretty weak overall this Sunday morning with Knee high sets. High pressure has built back in resulting in small/flat conditions for the remainder of the weekend and beginning of the work week. Things look to pick up Tuesday in south wind-swell from a approaching cold front. The front looks to stall over our general marine area and we should have rideable surf with varying quality throughout much of the work week. Showing up to chest high sets mid-late week. Winds look to be a slight factor being onshore much of the work week with some moments worth keeping your eyes on. We will keep you in the loop!
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail into Monday before a cold front nears and then stalls. The front will likely shift north as a warm front ahead of another cold front which should move through Thursday. Cooler and drier high pressure will then return late week with another storm system possibly impacting the area later in the weekend.”
It’s 41* and sunny at the beach. Look for a sun mixed with clouds later and a high of 59*
Water temperature is 57*. You’ll need at least a 4/3, and booties to be comfortable in the surf.
Sunrise is at 7:10 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:56 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
