Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, March 18 at 8:30 a.m.

We will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for spring hours with the time change. Back to long, lazy afternoon sessions.

Surf at The Washout this morning is knee-thigh high with an occasional waist high set and glassy with a light north-west wind. Lots of water coming in with the full moon high tide. Boards with some volume will be fun for some nice little lines.

Look for southeast winds at 5-10 knots this afternoon, eventually going south at 10-15 in the tonight.

We have a high tide at 8:40 a.m. Low tide is at 2:47 p.m., and high tide will be at 9:05 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.0 ft at 10 seconds out of the east/south-east with a long-period swell.

The surf-zone has cleaned up today as winds are forecast to be light out of the northwest for most of the morning. Winds come south-west Friday and Saturday, and we see short-period south-west wind swell fill in. Look for a quick clean-up Sunday morning after a cold front passage Saturday night. Surf will likely fall off Sunday but hope for some cleaner leftovers on Sunday morning.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A cold front will move through the area this weekend with high pressure returning for early next week. Another storm system will then likely impact the area mid to possibly late next week.”

It’s 60* with a light fog this morning. Look for a high of 70* and sunshine today.

Water Temperature is back up to 62*.

Sunrise is at 7:26 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:30 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
