Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, April 11 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at The Pier is running waist to stomach high and clean. Probably best for the high-volume board. The sets are inconsistent, but when they come in, they look super fun.
Winds are currently out of the west/north-west and the surf zone is clean.
We just came off an early high tide, Low tide is at 1:41 p.m. High tide is again tonight at 8:06.
Edisto Buoy is currently reading 4.3 feet at 4 seconds from the southwest. With a swell from the east 2 feet at 8 seconds.
We have some decent longboard/fish surf in the water this morning. No one is out, early. Looks kind of fun, with inconsistent sets. It will likely die out after the high tide this morning, and wind will get on it this afternoon. Surf gets small this weekend as north flow Saturday goes north-east on Sunday, and surf will be small for the first time in a minute. Early next week we see a cold front approach on Tuesday and Monday sees building, short period south/south-west wind swell. That’s our best chance for surf in the next few days.
Our friends at NOAA predict, “A cold front will move through our area today, bringing some showers. High pressure then returns for the weekend and the first part of next week, keeping conditions dry. A dry cold front should move through on Tuesday.”
The water temperature is around 67*
It’s currently 61* sunny with a high of about 71*
Sunrise was at 6:56 am and sunset will be at 7:45pm.
Thanks for tuning in for the Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
