Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, April 2 at 8:30 a.m.
We just received a shipment of Torq surfboards for spring. Come check them out.
Surf at The Washout this morning is ankle to knee and looks pretty dang terrible.
Surf zone is semi-choppy and super drifty down the beach.
Winds are north at 15 to 20 with a higher gust.
Look for north winds at 20 to 25 knots this afternoon, abating to 15 knots late day.
We have a high tide at 12:23 a.m., and a low tide at 6:27 p.m.
Virtual buoy readings are showing 4.2 ft. at 5 seconds in a high-angle, short-period, north-east wind swell. This is passing by our beaches.
High pressure brings strong off/side-shore winds and fading surf to the beach today. Winds/swell pushes off-shore into the weekend, when surf goes small and we see unseasonable cool temperatures. Forecast for meaningful waves looks pretty dismal thought the middle of next week.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “Dry and cool high pressure will build across the region through the weekend and prevail through mid-week. Warmer conditions will return early next week.”
It is pretty cold out here this morning. It’s 41* with sun. Look for a high of 52* and sun today.

We want to send a happy birthday shout-out to Lesa Parrott of Ocean Surf Shop. Sometimes the backend of a business goes under-appreciated when it is that precise effort that keeps everything running without the glamor and recognition. We appreciate all you do to keep everything running smoothly.
