Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast Friday, April 22 at 8:30 a.m.
We have a new shipment of Stewart Epoxy boards at the shop, including Redline 11 and 2Fun models. Come check them out.
Waves at The Washout this morning are thigh-to-waist high. Should get a bigger set as the tide comes in.
Winds are north-east at 5 knots, and surf zone is pretty clean. It should get a push with the incoming tide.
Winds will stay north-east today, increasing this afternoon at 10 knots. Surf will be choppier later today.
WE are just coming off a low tide. High tide will be at 1:20 p.m. The next low tide will be at 7:24 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 3 feet at 8 seconds from the south-east.
There is some rideable, decent surf out here this morning, and there should be a rideable wave at Folly today, especially for the high volume board. We are going to see this lazy, semi-choppy trade wind swell continue this weekend, with very similar conditions with waves averaging thigh-to-waist high, plus or minus, and easterly winds during the day. Should be a nice weekend of surf.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail across the region through early next week. A cold front will impact the area towards the middle of next week.”
It’s currently 67* and sunny at the beach. Look for a high of 73* and sun with a few clouds this afternoon.
Water Temperature is around 68*.
