Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, April 30 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at The Washout this morning is around knee-to-thigh high. Best for a high-volume board for sure.

Winds are west, side-shore, at 10 to 12 knots, and surf zone is fairly clean but a little bit crossed-up.

Look for winds to continue westerly at 10 to 15 today. We see semi-clean, fading surf later this afternoon.

We have a high tide at 11:14 a.m., and a low tide will be at  5:14 p.m.

Virtual buoy readings are showing 2.4 ft at 4 seconds in a weak, short-period south-west wind swell, with an east/south-east ground swell 1.3 ft. at 7 seconds.

Surf looks pretty small again today for today, but it’s rideable for the logs or foamies this morning if you need to get wet. Winds switch north-east for Saturday, and high-angled north-east wind waves will roll past our beaches Saturday. Waves go flat for Sunday and into early in the work week, but we should see some trade-wind type swell Tuesday into Wednesday of next week. Nothing too big, but hopefully something rideable for the middle of next week.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “A dry cold front will move through today, followed by high pressure this weekend. The weather pattern may become unsettled for our area early to mid-next week.”

It’s a beautiful, sunny 72* this morning. Look for a nice tanning day, with a high of 82* and sunshine all day.

Water temperature is around 70*.

Sunrise is at 6:31 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:01 p.m.
