New parking restrictions in place on Folly Beach. Please see the City’s Web site for more information.

Mandatory mask ordinance is in effect for Folly.

Surf at Folly this morning is knee-to-thigh high. It is soft at the morning’s high tide. Looks fun for the high-volume board.

Winds are variable in rain storms this morning. Surf is bumpy, but there are some clean sections.

Look for winds to shift south at 8 to 12 knots this afternoon, adding some surface chop to the surf zone.

We have a high tide at 10:20 a.m., and a low tide will be at 4:23 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3 ft. at 9 seconds in a medium-period, easterly swell.

There is a small wave out here this morning for the longboard glide. We do have high pressure to our east, and this should push in some small trade-swell through the weekend. Nothing too big. Might be a few fun ones with moderate southerly winds forecast for our area. Also Tropical Depression 13 is in the Western Atlantic, and is expected to become a named storm. The storm should push some bigger swell our way Monday and into the middle of next week as it heads toward Florida and into the Gulf of Mexico early next week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A stationary front will dissipate to the west of the region through the weekend. High pressure will then prevail into early next week as Tropical Depression 13 moves into the eastern Gulf of Mexico as a tropical storm or hurricane. Refer to the latest advisory on Tropical Depression 13 issued by the National Hurricane Center.”

It’s 74* with clouds and heavy rain this morning. Look for a high of 85 with a 40% chance of rain this afternoon.

Water temperature is 86*.

Sunrise is at 6:47 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:56 p.m.
